Professional Sharpening
Professional sharpening services for knives, tools, scissors, axes, and outdoor equipment using a Tormek T-8 Swiss-made water-cooled sharpening system. Each edge is carefully refined and finished with leather stropping for a cleaner, sharper, longer-lasting edge while helping preserve the integrity of the steel. Pricing starts from $12 minimum per item, with final pricing depending on size, condition, and sharpening complexity.
Custom Leatherwork
Custom leatherwork and sheath-making designed for durability, practicality, and long-term use. Specialising in custom leather sheaths for prospecting picks, outdoor tools, knives, and other equipment, restorations, and personalised leather projects. Each piece is handcrafted with attention to strength, fit, and finish.
Ordering
To begin an order, please contact me via text message or phone call with clear photos of the knives or tools you would like sharpened. This helps me assess the condition of the items and provide a rough quote before booking.
I’m happy to take on anything from a simple one-off job with a single knife or tool through to larger sharpening orders.
For customers located in the Mount Ommaney area of Brisbane, local pickup and drop-off is available, often same day depending on workload, and generally within 1–2 days.
Please ensure all tools or knives are safely placed in a bag, box, or protective cover and clearly labelled with your name and contact number to help keep all orders organised and secure.
Payment is completed upon job completion once the sharpening or leatherwork has been finished and ready for return.

Hi, Kelvin here and welcome to Aussie Stitch — a Mount Ommaney based small business specialising in professional tool and knife sharpening, leatherwork, and custom leather sheaths for prospecting and outdoor tools.
I believe that properly maintained tools make all the difference. Whether it’s a work knife, kitchen knife, scissors, axes, woodworking tools, or prospecting gear, my goal is to restore a clean, durable edge with professional-level precision and care.
I use professional sharpening equipment including the renowned Tormek T-8 Swiss-made water-cooled sharpening system. This system allows me to sharpen tools at low temperatures, helping preserve the hardness and integrity of the steel while achieving an extremely refined edge.
Every edge is carefully finished and refined using leather stropping techniques to remove burrs and produce a cleaner, sharper, longer-lasting finish.
In addition to sharpening, I also create custom leather items, including durable leather sheaths designed for prospecting picks and outdoor tools.
